Compositional Philosophy

At the core of Claro’s work is the principle that mathematical rigor and deep human expression are complementary forces. Rather than treating music theory as a collection of arbitrary rules, Claro models musical structures using algebraic frameworks, recursive harmonic sets, and biological rhythms. This structural approach applies seamlessly across genres, from chamber scoring and vocal arranging to electronic production and popular songwriting, offering precise, repeatable control over complex harmonic movement.

Background & Artistic History

Claro holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in French from Wichita State University, specializing in applied harmonic equations, acoustic physics, and mathematical score representation. A former string instructor and ensemble director, Claro’s major acoustic works include The Clan of Munes Suite, a 45-minute original chamber suite produced in 2014 through municipal and museum grant financing.

In addition to formal composition and pedagogical work, Claro actively organizes and performs within live-coding electronic music collectives, engineering real-time audio signal infrastructure for live algorithmic performance.
